Aims and Objectives
- To equip students to meet changes and challenges under rapid local and global economic, scientific and technological development
- To strengthen students’ abilities to integrate and apply knowledge and skills
- To enhance students’ interest in Science, Technology and Mathematics
- To nurture students’ creativity, collaboration and problem solving skills
- To cater for individual needs with a holistic approach
The Two Approaches
With the focus on strengthening students’ abilities to integrate and apply knowledge and skills within and across the Key Learning Areas (KLAs) of Science, Technology and Mathematics Education, two approaches for organising learning activities in STEM education are adopted.
Approach One
Learning activities based on topics in a KLA for students to integrate relevant learning elements from other KLAs
Approach Two
Projects for students to integrate relevant learning elements from different KLAs
A Holistic Approach – To cater for students’ individual needs
