Low Carbon Week 2020-21

In a bid to involve the students and teachers in reducing, reusing and upcycling, the Low Carbon Week was launched between 5 and 9 October.

The Principal and Vice- principals were invited to mark the opening by putting plants on an upcycling terrarium, symbolic of our role in sustainable development for different species. In the Low Carbon Week, The Green Torch committee came up with a series of interactive activities. There was a week-long quiz on a video that is accessible to everyone. The video documented the sticky problem of waste disposal in the midst of combat against the pandemic. A total of 50 best performed participants eventually received the prizes. The S2 students joined an online talk that explores the connection between plastic consumption and climate change. Those who are more into hands-on experience, would have joined an inter-class upcycling competition, which let them think out of the box how to turn disposable objects into useful items. On 9 October, we were invited to join No Air-Con Night 2020 at 7:00p.m. at home along with Green Sense, a local charity aiming to reinforce environmental consciousness in society.
