The Low Carbon Week with the theme ‘Energy Efficiency and Saving’ was held between 14 and 18 November 2022.
Our Principal and Assistant Principals marked the opening of the week by putting coloured sand into a container, symbolizing the effort of saving different kinds of energy. Tips on energy saving were also given by the Chairlady and Vice-chairlady of Green Torch at the opening ceremony.
Throughout the week, display boards and interactive game booths were set up at the covered playground to give students an opportunity to learn more about energy efficiency and to test themselves through playing the interactive games. A quiz on the Mandatory Energy Efficiency Labelling Scheme was also given to all classes during the home period on 17 November. The three winning classes were 2D, 4C and 4D.
Apart from these activities, a talk on energy saving and efficiency was organised for S1 students on 18 November to raise their awareness on the importance of energy conservation.
Green Torch, organiser of the Low Carbon Week, hopes that Sacred Heartists would become better aware of the importance of saving energy and play a more active role in doing so.
