The Low Carbon Week was held between 9 October and 13 October 2023. The theme of the Low Carbon Week this year was ‘Green Lifestyle’. Students of Green Torch would like to promote the idea of living positively and healthily to everyone in the school through organising the Week.

The Principal, Vice Principals and Assistant Principal were invited to mark the opening of the week by joining together four designs representing ‘Yi’, ‘Shi’, ‘Zhu’, ‘Xing’ (clothing, food, housing and transportation) – the four aspects of living. The boards were displayed at the school entrance to remind students of the four areas in which they can make changes to develop a healthy lifestyle.

Unfortunately, adverse weather conditions had led to the postponement of the opening ceremony to 10 October and cancellation of the talk ‘Healthy Lifestyle’ (Xing) on the first day. However, activities such as the inter-class quiz competition on cluttering (Zhu), a donation of school uniform (Yi) and a fruit skewer event (Sik) provided useful information on a green lifestyle and an opportunity to help those who are in need.
