Jointly organised by the Education Bureau and the CS Department, all S5 students and accompanying teachers took part in a two-day Mainland study tour to Huizhou City. The tour aimed at enabling students to gain an understanding of national affairs and the development of the country, so as to enhance their sense of national identity.
On the first day, they took the high speed rail to Huizhou City and visited temples and parks that commemorate past famous scholars. They learnt about the technological development of China through visiting a science museum and a technology company. The second day was a visit to a local school in which students received a warm welcome. They had an enjoyable time chatting and exchanging with the local students.
Through the two-day programme, our S5 students learnt about the cultural conservation and technological development of our country. They were particularly impressed by the school they visited as it was a big campus with nice learning facilities and equipment for a large number of students. Most Sacred Heartists agreed that they had a more comprehensive understanding of the country, and this trip had enhanced their sense of national identity.
