Dance Competition 2023-2024

The annual Dance Competition was held on 2nd July, 2024. The Dance Team began the competition with an astounding performance. Then, S1 and S2 classes performed many different Chinese dances which represented the culture, different tribes, respect for nature and representation of beauty. Their performances were effortless.

Before the Open Section began, Jessica Shiu (4E) and Alisa Wong (1E) performed their Hong Kong Schools Dance Festival dance; they did a mix of the ChaChaCha, Samba and Rumba. The crowd were electric for their dance as it was performed with such passion, determination and love for what they do. Following that, Vanessa Cheung (1C) also performed a beautiful dance with such precision.

In the Open Section, students from all levels competed in three different categories including Jazz, Broadway and Chinese Dance, to the best of their abilities and it was a phenomenal watch. The crowd went wild.

The school had the pleasure of having Ms Luk Yun Mee, a distinguished member of the dance profession in Hong Kong and our former SHCC Dance teacher, to be our adjudicator and presented prizes to the winners. Sr Veronica and Miss Janet Wu also presented prizes to the dance winners while Ms So Wing See and Mr Leo Lee awarded the winners for the best designed headpieces.

The success of the Dance Competition must go to Miss Janet Wu, the School Dance Team’s teacher advisor, Miss Clara Ho and Mr Raymond Fong, teacher advisors of the Stage Management Team, Mr Wilfred Leung and his Campus TV Team. In addition, a big thanks to Ms Wendy Lee and the Photography Society, and Language Support from Ms Winnie Law. Without their support, the Dance Competition would not have been possible.
