On 2 September, Miss Renie Sinn, our Principal, extended a warm welcome to everyone, including S1 students, new students in other forms, new pastoral care adviser, new laboratory technician and new teachers.
The Principal employed a witty acronym of ‘welcome’ as she introduced the school theme of this year, Joyful Motivated Learners; Earnest Thoughtful Citizens. She wasted no time in underlining several prominent goals to pursue in learning ambience, namely, fun experiences, an incentive to explore and participate in as many competitions as possible. In terms of cultivating our national identity and identity as a global citizen, Miss Sinn gave an account of the pride our School Choir felt seeing the rise of the national flag in The World Choir Games held recently in Auckland, New Zealand. The Choir’s accomplishments not only made Chinese people proud, but also Asians. Miss Sinn furthered her message with the importance of being a proactive changing agent that influences others and responds to the local and global needs with own talents and effort.
Following Miss Sinn’s encouragement, the Head Girl Core Group representative, Hayley Lam, gave a comprehensive introduction to the design of the Student Companion 2024-2025. More than a schedule book, the publication aims to inspire students and make them aspire to become a worthy member of the local and global communities the way our distinguished, versatile alumnae have been doing in Hong Kong and the world.
To get everyone ready for the new school year, Mr Anthony Mo gave us reminders on various issues so that we will all work together to make the campus a more enjoyable place.
