The Christmas Celebration this year began with an enlightening religious celebration programme presented by the Catholic Formation Core Team.
The celebration shared the theme of the Jubilee Year 2025 – ‘Pilgrims of Charity’ and how true Christmas spirit lies in the way we can transform lives through charity. The video about The Beauty of Christmas by Pope Francis expressed the importance of sharing love with others during Christmas. Student representatives of different classes shared how they would spread their love to others during Christmas. Following that, Dr Shum Hong Yuen, Chinese Medicine practitioner and co-founder of Light of Raphael, a non-profit charity providing charitable Chinese medical service to individuals and households with financial difficulty, told us how he turned his compassion for the sick into action and made use of the knowledge and skills given by God to help those who are unable to afford medical treatment for their sickness and agony.
Our Class of 2024 graduate Sarah Tsui took the opportunity to share encouraging words and gave her best wishes to S6 students as she received the Award for Best Performance in HKDSE presented by Miss Renie Sinn, our School Principal.
The Student Council took the stage after the award presentation. They encouraged teamwork and enhanced student-teacher interaction with interesting videos starring the teachers, and hosted interactive games in which each class had to guess the identity of the teachers appearing in AI created pictures. The hall was filled with laughter and cheers when students saw the humourous side of the teachers.
Another highlight of the celebration came when Miss Sinn gave the audience in the hall a surprise acapella performance with Mr Huey Chan, Miss Maria Lam, Ms Rebecca Lam, Ms So Wing See, Ms Faye To and Mr Jackson Yau. Miss Sinn also gave each class Christmas treats before inviting teachers to the stage to sing Christmas songs to all students.
After the hall programme, students continued the celebration in their class parties. The celebration ended on a joyful note as all students, teachers and staff made their way home with abundant blessings, Christmas presents, and warm and relaxing holidays ahead.
