Easter Programme 2025-2026

On 22 April 2026, we reviewed the meaning of Easter and the story of Jesus’ crucifixion and his suffering in the Easter Programme.

The programme engaged us with videos about the story of Easter that highlighted hope after resurrection. The first video explored the meaning of Easter through the crucifixion of Jesus. The key takeaways from the video were to spread love and to be grateful for Jesus’ sacrifice for humanity. The animation video about a tree and a bear reminded us about Jesus’s love and that hope should be nourished and nurtured. A Kahoot game that centered on the details of Christ’s resurrection brought as much excitement as enrichment to the audience.

Our guest speaker was Deacon Thomas Lam, Permanent Deacon of Rosary Church. He is also the Associate Professor and Chaplain of St Francis University. Deacon Lam expressed how he spreads hope to prison inmates through prison ministry. He frequently visits prisons to help inmates ‘stand up’ and rebuild their lives after incarceration. The focus of his visit is to help with rehabilitation, education and re-integration of the prisoners into society. He also stressed that as a Catholic, he carries the mission of spreading the love of Jesus. He ended his presentation by asking students to show respect and empathy to the struggle of others and urged them to participate in more voluntary work.

Students paused for reflections on lessons learnt from all these experiences. The Easter Programme ended with Bible reading, Easter song and prayers for carrying out the message of resurrection in our daily lives.
