Annual Swimming Gala 2026-2027

Victoria Park Swimming Pool came alive on 19 September as Sacred Heartists gathered for the Annual Swimming Gala. The day kicked off with an opening declaration by our school Principal, Miss Renie Sinn, sparking spirited cheers from the stands as swimmers dived into thrilling butterfly, breaststroke, freestyle, and backstroke races.

Our school was privileged to host Ms Yip Pui Yin, a renowned local and international former badminton athlete, as the Guest of Honour. Ms Yip presented the top awards and trophies to our outstanding swimmers. Joining her on the ceremonial party to present medals and prizes were Ms Connie Lam, Internal Vice Chairperson of the Alumnae Association, Mr Andy Chan, PTA Chairperson, Miss Renie Sinn, and Vice Principals Miss Irene Yung and Mr David Hung.

Following a day of exhilarating competition, individual honours went to our Grade Champions: Tiana Lee (A Grade), Jasmine Chau (B Grade), and Gia Yeung (C Grade). Furthermore, Tiana broke the school A Grade records in 100-metre breaststroke, 100-metre freestyle, and 50-metre butterfly, making her the spotlight of the day. In the House division, Nightingale took home the A Grade Championship, while Keller and Bronte secured the B Grade and C Grade crowns respectively. Ultimately, Pankhurst delivered a remarkable team performance to claim the Overall House Champion title. Over in the grandstands, Nightingale won first place in the Cheering Competition, followed closely by Pankhurst in second and Bronte in third.

The event drew to a memorable close with an uplifting address by Ms Yip. Reflecting on her own athletic journey, where perseverance mattered far more than always taking top spot, she shared how deeply she was moved by the passion of all of our six Houses. She reminded students that true triumph lies in character, grit, and sportsmanship rather than mere scores, leaving all Sacred Heartists inspired to always give their absolute best.
