Installation of Student Leaders in Office 2026-2027

Following the School Reopening Mass, Sr Veronica Fok, Miss Renie Sinn, Miss Irene Yung and Mr David Hung – the official party of the installation of student leaders in office, presented the badges to inaugurate the student bodies into office with the teacher advisers.

The first student leaders receiving their badges on stage were members of the Head Girl Core Group. They are ready to pass on a positive learning spirit and attitude to all Sacred Heartists, set good role models of learning and manners, review school innovations and make constructive suggestions to contribute to the continuous improvement of our school. Leah Yeung, our Head Girl this year received her badge from Sr Veronica, our School Supervisor. Miss Sinn, Miss Yung, Ms Faye To and Miss Chang Wai Fong presented badges to the other members of Head Girl Core Group.

The second group of student leaders was the Prefects Board, responsible for maintaining code of conduct. The group is led by the Head Prefect and Deputy Head Prefects. This year, our Head Prefect is Winki Tang and the Deputy Head Prefects are Miley Chan and Kristy Chan. Miss Sinn, Miss Yung and Mr Anthony Mo presented the badges to the Head Prefect and the Deputies respectively.

Miss Sinn, Mr Hung and Student Council teacher advisers presented badges to the President of the elected Student Council, MELIORA, and the executive committee members. The House teacher advisers presented badges and house flags to the Head and Deputy Heads of the six houses.

Student leaders from various teams were the next groups to receive badges from the Vice Principals and their teacher advisers: Guidance Sisters, Careers Assistants, Librarians, IT Prefects, Green Torch leaders, Ambassadors of Learning and Community Service Ambassadors took turns to the stage to receive the honours and responsibilities bestowed upon them.

The last part of the ceremony was marked by the Head Girl’s maiden speech. In Leah Yeung’s address to the school as Head Girl, she recalled the resilience and perseverance of the six Italian Canossian Sisters who travelled to Hong Kong to promote education for women. She encouraged all students to carry forward the legacy of the Sisters and uphold the values of our school. She introduced the guiding philosophy of the Head Girl Core Group this year – ‘Instill. Integrate. Impact.’, which challenges students to root themselves in school values, turn obstacles into growth, and serve the wider community. The Head Girl fuelled the students to dream big and follow their aspirations. She wished them a memorable year and urged them to fully live up to their roles as Sacred Heartists.

The Installation of Student Leaders in Office drew to a close with the singing of the School Song, led by all student leaders inaugurated at the ceremony.
