Christmas Celebration 2023-2024

This year’s Christmas Celebration began with an enriching religious celebration programme conducted by the Catholic Formation Team. A sharing was given by Father John Wotherspoon O.M.I., the founder of NGO MercyHK. Father John talked about MercyHK Canteen, which is located on Temple Street, and how it represents second chances and opportunities for the socially disadvantaged. This canteen’s sole purpose is to help the socially disadvantaged and rehabilitate ex-prisoners who deserve a second chance at life. Father John reiterated the importance of the students becoming community leaders such as teachers to help people in need, as we will all need help at some point in our lives.

The next programme was run by Alora, the Student Council. They wanted to foster a student-teacher interaction so they held an interactive game, charades, while one member wore headphones.

Sr Veronica, Miss Irene Yung, Mr David Hung and Miss Chan Yuk Lin handed out Christmas presents to each class and then Sr Veronica called upon teachers to go on stage and sing an enchanting Christmas carol to express their Christmas wishes to everyone.

After the Christmas programme, it was time for the class Christmas party and Christmas Board Design Competition. Each class played fun games and enjoyed a Christmas party – with delicious party food. Teacher adjudicators visited every classroom to appreciate the board design and presentations, having a challenging time making decisions on the winners. In the end, classes of 1D, 2B, 3D, 4F and 5A were awarded the Best Christmas Board Decoration and Presentation of their levels.

The Christmas celebration ended with the Teacher-Student Dodgeball Competition organised by the Student Council. Everyone went home in sweat, but also joy and blissfulness.
