S2 Catholic Formation Day

To strengthen the Catholic students' religious faith, the Religious and Moral Education Department organised a Catholic Formation Day for Secondary Two Catholic students.

The Formation Day began with a movie session where students watched the movie Hacksaw Ridge. After that, they listened to a sharing from the priest of Our Lady of Lourdes Church about ‘Set Life On Fire’ before attending the weekday mass celebrated by the priest.

From Hacksaw Ridge, our S2 Cathiolic students learnt that The Ten Commandments can and should be kept in our daily lives. They were able to answer what the main character prays for: ‘save one more'. Their answer helped them better understand that we can take small steps in order to achieve more, just like the main character who saves 75 men in total, one by one.

From the sharing of the priest, students learnt that we can have joy even when we are suffering as long as we have faith in God. They also realised that we should treasure the chance of attending weekly mass while people in other places may not have the chance as there is a serious lack of priests.
