S4 Catholic Formation Day

To strengthen Catholic students’ religious faith, the Religious and Moral Education Department organised a Catholic Formation Day for Secondary Four Catholic students on 21 October 2023.

The Formation Day began with a prayer and a warm up game. Students were tested on their knowledge on the life of St. Magdalene of Canossa, history of Canossian Daughters of Charity and our school.

Guided by Sr. Rita Chung, our students visited the Canossian Heritage and Sacred Heart Chapel to learn about the development and services of the Canossian Missions in Hong Kong and in Mainland China. Then, they were asked to reflect on how to follow the example of the pioneer sisters to ‘Set Life On Fire’ in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the birthday of Our Foundress.

To consolidate what they have learnt, participants were given time to share in groups about the exhibit which impressed them most and what they had learnt from the Canossian Sisters. They were asked to choose and copy words of St. Magdalene as a reminder to follow in the footsteps of our Foundress in daily life. The Formation Day ended joyfully with the singing of the Official Hymn to St. Magdalene of Canossa.
