Graduation Ceremony 2019-20

The Graduation Ceremony was held on 31 October 2020 in our College Hall where we celebrated the achievements of our S6 students in 2019-20. In compliance with the social distancing policy, we scheduled two sessions of ceremony for our six S6 classes. In each session, three classes of graduates received their certificates on the stage, with one parent or family member seated in the Hall and the other one seated in the classroom to watch the live broadcast of the event.

It was our pleasure to have the presence of Sr Agnes, School Supervisor, Sr Veronica, Principal, Miss Florence Kwok, Vice-principal, Mr Ignatius Chow, Assistant Principal, S6 homeroom teachers, together with teachers and parents to witness the achievements of our graduates.

On this special occasion, Sr Veronica encouraged our graduates with six words: ‘Gratitude’, ‘Humility’ and ‘Sacred Heart of Jesus’. She reminded the graduates to be grateful and cherish their family members, teachers, classmates and people around them. The Principal further bade the graduates be humble and open to different opportunities. Last, she advised our graduates to form a habit of anchoring to Jesus and find secrets of a fulfilling life. She concluded with our favourite slogan: ‘Once a Sacred Heartist, Forever a Sacred Heartist!’

In her address to the graduates, Sr Agnes Law urged them to create a compassionate future for the local community and other nations with their intelligence, moral values and conscience to make discerning decisions. In order to do so, they should be on guard against negative emotions, learn from the mistakes and success of the past, embrace modern technologies and knowledge and respect the rights and benefits of others. Sr Agnes appreciated the graduates’ effort in making the establishment of the Women's Centre in Cambodia possible. She reminded the graduates to follow Jesus’ unconditional love by loving our enemies and serving the poor.

Monique Lee from the Head Girl Core Group of 2019-20 gave a vote of thanks. She extended her gratitude on behalf of the graduates for Sacred Heart education which nurtures them into women of versatility, integrity and charity in humility. In particular, Monique highlighted the school theme, Celebrating the Past with Gratitude, Embracing the Future with Hope and Sharing our Life in Love. She gave credits to a myriad of student activities in the Sacred Heart education they have received in the past years. Monique appealed to the graduates to uphold the characteristics of Sacred Heart and pass on the tradition from the past students who had laid the foundation.

After the ceremony, the graduates were given a flower prepared by the Alumnae Association as a souvenir. They took photos with their beloved parents, family members, teachers and schoolmates on the gracefully-decorated campus.
