To foster student interest in cosmetic science and to engage them in the application of chemistry knowledge via experiments, City University of Hong Kong launched a formulation competition on 6 August 2022.  Two S4 students, Pow Lok Ching, Valerie and Tse Man Yung, Summer came second in Lip Care Product Division.  

Their project aimed at finding out how differently each lipstick formula performed in terms of moisturising ability and glamorous colours. The team studied many samples on their hardness, moisturising ability, smoothness, glossiness and melting point. They further conducted surveys on users with their testers.
