School Reopening Mass 2024-2025

On 13 September, Rev Paul Kam, Celebrant of this year’s School Reopening Mass, spoke of the significance of receiving help from those who care about our predicament. In his homily, Rev Kam shared the transformative power of a commitment to walk with the troubled inmates through art therapy. The creative ministry fosters self-expressions and being understood by the volunteers who visit them and respond to their feelings. While opening up one’s plight and strain in family relationships is not easy, the reconciliation is worth it all. Rev Kam reminded us that we can put our cares to God through prayers and look for support from teachers, friends and people around us.

During the Eucharistic Mass, students and teachers offered intercessions about family relationships, friendships, peace of the world and governance, teachers’ efforts to help students find the meaning of life, students’ incentive to learn in a fun environment and aspire to become a worthy citizen. The Student Companion and Community Service Record Book symbolic of our commitment to be joyful motivated learners and earnest thoughtful citizens were offered.

On this auspicious occasion, we witnessed the installation of executive committee members of Catholic Society in office. The entire congregation then responded to a commission to follow the fine example of our Foundress, St Magdalene of Canossa and realise the school theme on learning and character-building.

After the commission, Rev Kam sanctified Sacred Heart Spring, the Way of Cross and the mural depicting Jesus’ ministries. These places aim to give us repose to reflect and get connected to the Source of all blessings.
